Code Enforcement Officer/Licensed Plumbing Inspector
This department is responsible for assisting, issuing, and enforcing the Land Use Ordinance of Vinalhaven as well as the state laws regarding internal plumbing/subsurface wastewater regulations.
Building Permits:
- Must submit permits for Planning Board approval by the last Wednesday of each month.
- Planning Board meets first and second Wednesdays of the month; the first week's meeting is a preliminary meeting; the second meeting is an action meeting.
- If the CEO is able to issue the permit, please make an appointment for review.
Subsurface and Internal Plumbing Permits:
- Submit all permits to the CEO/LPI.
- Decisions will be made as soon as possible.
