There are many opportunities to enjoy all that Vinalhaven has to offer, including:
- A variety of seasonal & year-round restaurants, ranging from take-out to fine dining, as well as shopping opportunities along Main Street. All located within a half-mile of the ferry terminal.
- The Vinalhaven Historical Society, located on High Street, which opens for the season on June 19th. The museum features exhibits highlighting the rich history of the island, information on current restoration projects, and maintains a gift shop as well.
- Various outdoor destinations, such as the State Beach, Tip Toe Mountain, Brown's Head Light, Booth's & Lawson's swimming quarries, and miles of other hiking trails and nature preserves. Kayaking is also a popular activity around the island.
