The Town of Vinalhaven EMS squad is a Basic Service, licensed to the paramedic level.  Our services averages approximately 200 calls per year, with 65% transported to the mainland.  We pride ourselves on offering the same quality of care that one would expect on the mainland, despite our remoteness.  Our community is seeking someone that is committed to serving others, willing to embrace challenges, and able to enhance our service.  This is a full-time position that offers paid vacation and sick time, health, dental and retirement contributions, and a salary range of $44,720 to $50,960, commensurate with experience.

This position involves significant public contact and working with town staff and volunteers.  The Town Office is often the first phone call made to figure out what resources or agencies can assist with the public’s questions/concerns.  This position can be a F/T or P/T position, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and desired workload.  Work includes assisting committees to maintain public records and assisting with the town’s communications.  Work is performed under the supervision of the Town Manager subject to applicable State laws and regulation and annual financial audits.
 
Our Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of our sidewalk network, drainage system, and nearly 35 miles of road, a combination of gravel and paved.  The department assists with the maintenance of various town properties/parks throughout the year.  The department is looking for someone with supervisory and road maintenance experience to lead the team through daily projects.  The Foreman will work closely with the Road Commissioner to plan and carryout short and long-term workplans.  The Town offers a benefits package that includes health and dental, retirement contribution, and paid vacation.  Qualified candidates' weekly compensation beginning at $800 per week and is commensurate with experience.
